AI visibility for Indiana businesses
When someone asks ChatGPT, Perplexity, or Google's AI "who's the best [your business] near me," the engine hands back two or three names. Generative engine optimization (GEO) is the work of making your business one of those names. I do it as a flat-fee, done-for-you project for businesses in Columbus, Indianapolis, and across Indiana, remote anywhere in the US.
The proof is live. My own sites, bipsutton.com and bipsbites.com, are cited by name by ChatGPT and Perplexity. On our first call I run your customers' questions through the engines in front of you, then run mine. That demo is the whole pitch, and it is free.
Why this matters now
- AI engines answer "who should I hire" questions from a short list of retrieved sources, and most local businesses are invisible to that retrieval. If you are not in the answer, the customer never hears your name.
- Being named by third parties matters more than backlinks: across a 75,000-brand study, plain-text brand mentions correlated with AI visibility at 0.66 to 0.74, versus roughly 0.27 for domain authority.
- ChatGPT's answers align with Bing's results about 87 percent of the time in controlled testing, and most local businesses have never once looked at their Bing presence.
- Only about 12 percent of AI-cited pages rank in Google's top 10 for the same question. Ranking well on Google does not mean AI recommends you.
What the project includes
- A live AI visibility check: the 8 to 10 questions a real customer in your category asks, run across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI, with screenshots of exactly who gets named
- A plain scorecard: which engines mention you, which name a competitor, and the top five fixes ranked by effort
- The fixes done, not just listed: Google Business Profile and Bing Places, the answer-first content engines quote, name-address-phone consistency across the web, and the directory listings engines actually pull from
- One "answer page" on your site written the way AI engines extract: the direct answer in the first 40 to 60 words
- A two-week recheck of the same questions, so you see the before and after yourself
Pricing
| Engagement | Price |
|---|---|
| AI visibility project, standard local business | $750 one time |
| Founder rate, first five Indiana clients | $500 one time |
| High-stakes categories (law, medical aesthetics, B2B) | $1,500 one time |
| Ongoing monitoring, monthly re-check, and content updates | $300 per month |
For context: GEO audits across the market run $500 to $2,500 and agency retainers run $1,500 to $5,000 per month. I price under that on purpose for local businesses, and the project is done-for-you rather than a report.
What I will not promise
Nobody can guarantee a "ranking" in ChatGPT. Answers are regenerated per conversation and vary run to run. What I do instead is fix the verified signals, re-run your buyer questions after two weeks, and show you what moved. If nothing improves, you do not pay.
FAQ
- What does GEO cost for a local business?
- $750 one time for most local businesses, $500 at the founder rate, $1,500 for high-stakes categories, and $300 per month if you want it maintained as the engines change.
- Does my business show up in ChatGPT?
- I check for free. Send me your business name and the kind of customer you want, and I will send back screenshots of what the engines say today.
- Is GEO the same as SEO?
- Related, not the same. SEO targets ranked lists of links. GEO targets the single synthesized answer, which is built from different signals: retrievability, third-party mentions, and consistent business facts across the web.
- How long until results?
- The first recheck happens at two weeks. Some categories move that fast, some take longer because engines re-crawl on their own schedule. That is exactly what the monthly option is for.

I run your customers' questions through ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI and send you the screenshots. If AI already recommends you, I tell you and you owe nothing.
